'Did not work'
'Did not work'
Pros
None, but not sure WHAT problem was.
I'm on Windows 7 Home Premium, all maintenance up to date.
For some reason, all of a sudden my Toshiba laptop could not access Internet from home; tried at other Wi-Fi sites that used to work, but still didn't work.
Message: 'Reinsert your Wireless Network Adapter
Windows can't connect to ______ because the Wireless Network Adapter has been removed. Reinsert the Network Adapter and then try connecting again.'
Tried many things, including going back to a Backup Recovery a month ago, when everything worked.
Ran CCleaner, Advanced Systems Care, SpyBot*, Windows Defender, Malware Anti-malware, Super Anti-Spyware, and Avast!* scans - nothing showed up.
* - Brought up at Startup time, along with ZoneAlarm.
Cons
Downloaded Realtek zipped file, installed, rebooted; still could not get my Toshiba laptop to work. Got new message: 'No REALTEK RTL8187B Wireless LAN'
BTW: Also went to Tobshiba support - very hard to figure out where drivers were - and eventually downloaded from there, installed, rebooted, still did not work.
Tried some suggestions on Microsoft support website - unsuccessful.
Tried also IPConfig/Release All and got msg saying Operation Failed
After 3 days of trying many things, wound up going back to the original release as it came from the vendor.
Everything worked immediately, so I am not sure what/why problem was.
Summary
Not sure what my problem was, but this did not resolve problem.
BUT I cannot say, with any certainty, that it was a Realtek problem

Cons
I did have made several tries until the software and hardware works properly.
Realtek RTL8187B Wireless 802.11b/g 54Mbps USB 2.0 Network Adapter works again on my computer after re-instal with the software from CNET.
Summary
In the beginning I thought, maybe the hardware had an defect. And several tries to re-instal the hardware and coresponding software did not work at all.
After research on CNET and download from latest update software and instal it, the hardware came back to 'live'.
So thanks to CNET.

I never thought I'd see the phrases 'windows ME' and '2013' anywhere near each other.
You really feel a product not made for your antiquated OS deserves a one-star rating because it does not work with your antiquated OS?
The only thing worthy of one star here is your PC 'skillset'
Pros
Thank your very much cnet for providing this great driver.
I have Alfa wireless USB adapter, and it has so much problems.
But after I installed this driver, it's just great.
Thanks again :)

Pros
Have never experienced any problems. Updates automatically with Windows Update.

Range of distance is lacking somewhat. Must have the most recent driver file with a Microsoft Hardware Compatibility digital signature,so it is compatible with Vista. The driver file here is not most recent. Newer version 6.1162.066.2009 available.

Maybe it depends on what laptop brand u are using. That's why sometimes it doesn't work to everyone who uses this product.

WiFi 802.11AC Dual Band Adapter from Sabrent makes connecting to WiFi networks quick and easy.
I sometimes have the luxury of working from home. Most of my work is done via email and other internet-based activities. Working from home is something that has come in quite handy when emergency circumstances or illnesses arise, but I admit, that I’ve run into issues before with my work laptop (Lenovo) connecting to our home wireless network. We have the highest option available for internet speed and all our other wireless devices have no lag time when connecting. Sometimes, it takes up to 5 minutes for my work laptop to finally connect to our WiFi. We determined that it might be because the wireless card in the laptop isn’t built for 802.11AC. So, we tried out a very nice little USB adapter from Sabrent to upgrade that signal.

Mac Wifi Drivers
As a bit of history – because I myself wasn’t sure of it – is that 802.11ac is a wireless networking standard that provides high-throughput to wireless local area networks. Our wireless router is an Apple Time Capsule, which is both compatible with 802.11ac technology and has dual band support. So, the WiFi 802.11AC Dual Band Adapter is a great addition to our house. If any laptops come into our home that aren’t compatible with that type of network, it can be very quickly with the addition of this device.
The adapter helps to deliver wireless AC technology to desktop or notebook computers by simply plugging it into a USB port. When your computer connects to the high-speed network, you will experience less WiFi interference and therefore have a faster throughput to the internet.
Some of the features of the WiFi 802.11AC Dual Band Adapter from Sabrent include:
- Ultra-fast 433Mbps and 150Mbps wireless speed with 802.11ac
- Compatible with 802.11a/b/g/n products
- Dual band connections for lag-free HD video streaming and gaming
- Easy wireless security encryption at a push of the WPS button

I was completely surprised about how quickly the adapter allowed my work laptop to connect to our home network. The 5 minutes was instantly turned into 5 seconds after I installed the WiFi adapter from Sabrent. It’s been a great accessory to have since it makes my workflow much more efficient.
The one drawback to this handy little device is that it comes with software to install on a CD. The install process for that was very easy, but I would love to see this software available via download on Sabrent’s website.
The WiFi 802.11AC Dual Band Adapter has an MSRP of $39.99. In my opinion, this is well worth the price as it makes connecting to high speed WiFi Networks much less of a headache. Also, it allows you to continue using your current computer with newer networks rather than replacing an entire wireless card or even the computer itself.
