Ok, so I took the time to download and install the 'NEW' driver for my 2175 psc and STILL they did not fix the bug with Safari. At first it wouldn't even print, it just spit out 4 blank pages. So I reset the printer and now it does the same as it always has. It spits out four or five blanks and then prints the webpage. You would think that if HP would make a driver for the MAC that they would fix this ever present bug in the software!? This is a nice printer but not for use with the Mac. I do like the HP Email Portal and some of their photo software is cool.

I've been shocked at how poorly implemented and non-Mac-like the HP software is ever since I bought a 2100 a couple of years ago. I keep thinking that HP will improve the software with each update, but I guess I'm fooling myself. No wonder HP is doing so badly.. I wish I'd gone with the Epson AIO.

I find it incredible that psc 2175 can be advertised as OS X compatible and yet it does not support scanning in Panther even with this update. HP appear to have known about the issue for some time now and appear to be doing nothing about it. Very poor show on behalf of HP, I should have gone with Epson.

This new version seems to work fine on Panther, and all the previous problems with repeated 'processing' activity, errors on reporting ink level for black cartirdges, and disappearing selection outline seem to have disappeared. I also like the new Print Director setup and interface much better, so it was easier to configure.
With this download, it requires a re-install of the OCR (ReadIris) software, or maybe just a re-start to recognize it for scanning; but it now allows use of the upgraded and updated versions. (Before, you had to rename the ReadIris software to the old application/folder names.)
Just bought the PC version for my son for Christmas.

After the fiasco with 6.0.7 where it took me about 3 months and a few total system re-installs to get it to detect the printer again so that set-up could be completed, and where three email's to HP support resulted in absolutely no response what-so-ever, I've just download this new version, but - no readme is included.
What are the enhancements? Will it install? Will I have a working printer/scanner afterwards? Anyone been successful before I attempt an upgrade?
Oh, and the HP web-site Mac Support section is broken so that no software is listed at all.

I cannot upgrade my computer to Panther because I will loose scan-capability on my 3 months old PCS 2175 AIO! What a shame!!!!
